Espectro 1

"A Look at Autism Through Contemporary Art"

We are a multi-city cultural program that spreads information about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through art and pedagogy.

With this program, we aim to inspire and challenge those who find themselves in a spectrum of misinformation and lack of knowledge about ASD. Our goal is to inspire and challenge those who encounter misinformation and a lack of knowledge about ASD, raising awareness and engaging with diverse realities and perspectives. At Espectro, we emphasize the importance of social and collective efforts to create better environments and communities for individuals with developmental disorders and their families.

Our program revolves around the work of Llorenz, an artist with ASD level 3, who has found in artistic expression a means to communicate with his surroundings. In addition to showcasing his work, we invite artists to create pieces inspired by his art and/or story to promote awareness and understanding of ASD.

The program changes its artistic discipline with each edition, aiming to explore different formats and embrace more learning methods for our diverse audiences.

Banana Contemporary – a company specialized in contemporary art – and Otea Autismo Foundation – focused on spreading information and supporting people with ASD and their families – have come together to create a playful and imaginative cultural program around two main pillars: Awaken and Dream.

Awaken

This is the pedagogical axis of the program, designed to plant seeds of curiosity and empathy in the participants through workshops and talks with experts and people with ASD.

Dream

This is the artistic pillar of the program. It consists of a collective exhibition featuring the work of Llorenz and the guest artists of the current edition.

Dream also includes a series of talks with participating artists, discussing their creative processes and their "awakening" in relation to ASD.

At Espectro, we rely on cultural spaces, digital platforms, and media outlets to provide information and experiences that motivate the community to approach us and learn more about ASD.

Additionally, our program aims to raise funds for this cause through the sale of Llorenz's artwork, as well as limited editions of wearable art created in collaboration with contemporary creatives and original Espectro merchandise.

Vision

To become a global reference and educational source for raising awareness about autism, fostering a more informed and inclusive society inspired by the work of the artist Llorenz.

Mission

Espectro is committed to empowering people with autism and their families by offering them a platform where, through art, we can act as an educational channel that illuminates the realities of the autism spectrum through awareness programs, collaborations, and educational events.

Values

Awareness: We increase society's understanding and acceptance of autism through pedagogy and contemporary art.

Empowerment: We provide tools and opportunities for autistic young people to see themselves reflected in art.

Integration: We strive to generate educational programs about autism in all our initiatives and artistic collaborations.

Respect: We value the diversity of experiences within the autism spectrum and endeavor to represent them accurately.

Commitment: Through our program, we create a positive and lasting impact on the community through pedagogy and art.
